Handling of flat and curved glass panes (concave or convex, bending radius ≥ 1 m) and window elements. Handling of curved glass panes only together with the optional available suction pad adapter for curved glass panes. The suction areas of the elements to be lifted must be air-impermeable, have to have a clean surface and must not be covered with protective foil.
At the crane hook
The vacuum based load lifting device OKTOPUS® GLASS-Jack GL-RN 400/600/800 is designed to handle large-sized glass panes and window elements up to a maximum weight of 800 kg. It is equipped with a dual-circuit vacuum system for construction site use according to DIN EN 13155. The crane eye of the device allows attaching the device to an existing hoist (provided by the customer). The suction frame can manually be rotated by 360° and tilted by 90°. The positioning and display elements are arranged ergonomically and allow comfortably positioning and moving the load. The electrically operated vacuum pump is supplied with energy by a 24 V DC battery system. Deviations from the nominal condition are indicated by optical and acoustical warning devices. Even in the case of complete energy breakdown, vacuum remains in each suction pad for at least 5 minutes. In this way a secure lowering of the load can be ensured at all times.
The optional available lowering cylinder allows a smooth and jerkless lowering of the load. The blow-off function that is optional available as well eases and quickens the release of the suctioned glass panes.
By dismounting the crane arm the construction height of the OKTOPUS® GLASS-Jack GL-RN 400/600/800 is reduced to 140 mm only. This low construction height allows installing glass and facade elements in the usually only 300 mm wide clearances between building facade and scaffolding in front of it. Using the patented guide ring allows rotating the device together with the suctioned load by 360°. For manipulating curved glass panes with the OKTOPUS® GLASS-Jack GL-RN 400/600/800, we developed a special suction pad adapter. It allows manipulating convex or concave glass panes with a radius of at least 1,000 mm. With 14 suction pads in total the suction pad adapter can securely lift and transport loads with a maximum weight of up to 320 kg. The total weight of the OKTOPUS® GLASS-Jack GL-RN 400/600/800 with mounted adapter for curved glass panes amounts to 75 kg.
